Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Built on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the west in a wonderful game for beginner level players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player versus the casino, unlike most other poker games that gamblers bet with other gamblers. By gambling against the dealer, starting players do not need to fret about other, more knowledgeable gamblers winning their cash.

A further Pai Gow edge is the relatively leisurely game pace, novices can take their time and plan while not having to make frenzied selections.

It's also easier to gamble on for an extended time with only a small amount of money since, to lose, both of your hands must be lower than each of the casino's hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the customary 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is given seven cards faces showing and the house gets 7 cards faces hidden.

One 5 card hand and one two card hand must be put together from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand has to be better than the two card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the casino's.
