No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker competitor in the world by most of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandpa showed him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup whatever he could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the detrimental comments from others annihilate his goal of becoming one of the strongest poker players in the world.
Phil started playing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning wasn't a regular thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and an immeasurable passion for poker. Phil says that he is learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his success. He knows he makes blunders every single game of poker and always strives to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
